Gravity Fall/Throat Metal Detector Separator for Granule/Powder
Food metal separators are an indispensable key equipment in the food production process. They are used to detect and remove metal foreign bodies mixed in food to ensure product safety and quality compliance.
Core technology and working principle
Electromagnetic induction technology
Detect metal using an alternating magnetic field. When metal passes through the detection area, it will generate eddy currents or interfere with the magnetic field balance, triggering an alarm and starting the rejection device. This technology is effective for both ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic metals (such as stainless steel and aluminum), and the detection sensitivity can reach 0.3-1.2mm.
Typical equipment: channel metal separator (for bagged and boxed products), drop metal separator (for granular and powdered materials).
X-ray detection technology
X-rays penetrate the product to identify high-density foreign bodies such as metal, glass, and stone. Compared with electromagnetic induction, X-rays can detect smaller metal particles (such as 0.2mm) and are not affected by the conductivity of the product. It is especially suitable for moist or high-salt foods (such as sausages and sauces).
Typical equipment: pipeline metal separator (for liquids and slurries), flat metal separator (for thin products)
